Bernardaud's success since 1863 has been due to its artful combination of tradition and innovation, as well as expertise and ingenuity. Bernardaud is an integral part of Limoges and is one of the last family-run businesses in the city.
In 2013, it will be celebrating its 150th anniversary. Apart from the tableware which it supplies throughout the entire world, Bernardaud's strength lies in the fact that it has expanded its range to other fields (limited editions, jewellery, lighting, furniture, etc.) for an eclectic clientele, not to mention the special orders and the hotel business which have brought it international renown.
In the Manufacture built in 1863, a tour installed in a part of the old workshops presents in detail the different stages of porcelain production, from raw material to finished product. A demonstration and introduction to the techniques of manufacture and decoration invites you to an interactive visit of a new style. At the end of the tour, the mysteries of porcelain manufacture and the reason for Limoges' fame will no longer hold any secrets for you, whether you are 7 or 77 years old.
The Foundation's annual exhibition is included in the tour.
Without compromising on quality, creativity and beauty, Bernardaud is one of the 81 companies in the Comité Colbert which represent the luxury sector and French quality abroad. Mr. Bernardaud is the president.
