Presentation

The Bruno Mercier company is located on Boulevard Louis Blanc in the touristfriendly district of Limoges known as the «boulevard of Limoges porcelain-makers». The shop specialises exclusively in the sale of Limoges porcelain jewellery. All the jewellery is made and decorated locally; each piece, bearing the Bruno Mercier hallmark, comes with a certificate of authenticity. The designer Bruno Mercier chose to work with porcelain to create a truly original jewellery line because of the infinite number of ways in which this material can be modelled and shaped. Moreover, after firing at 1400°C, porcelain is surprisingly light and unbelievably sturdy.

Born in Limousin in 1965, Bruno Mercier fell in love when he happened by chance to visit a porcelain studio. The emotion he felt at that precise moment has stayed with him ever since. After studying at the Fine Arts College in Tours and spending time in the printing industry, which gave him a real knowledge of treating colours,he signed up for classes at the French Ceramics Institute in Sèvres to learn firing techniques. He discovered the magic of white gold and its endless possibilities. He was fascinated!

At the Manufacture Royale in Niderviller, he improved his knowledge and perfected his art. He realised then that porcelain was the material for him. Limoges porcelain of course! His creativity would do the rest. This led to the creation of a contemporary jewellery line combining artisan skills and hi-tech expertise, exuberance and rigour. He created an inventive range of pieces, which he displayed in his own shop on the famous porcelain-makers’ boulevard in Limoges, which has since become a major attraction for residents and visiting tourists alike.
